The Far-ish Side

I grew up reading The Far Side comics and cherished every collection that was published. I was deeply saddened when the final comic strip came out over two decades ago. For years, I hadn’t thought much about it, but recently, something inspired me to dig out my old collections and relive those wonderfully absurd moments. That nostalgic journey sparked an idea—and that idea led to the creation of this LoRA.

This LoRA is my way of paying homage to the great and immensely talented Gary Larson, but it is not intended to reproduce his work. From what I understand, The Far Side holds a deeply personal significance for Mr. Larson, one that’s hard to put into words. With that in mind, this LoRA captures a "Far Side-ish" style rather than attempting to replicate the exact essence of the original comics. I purposefully avoided an exact imitation out of respect for Mr. Larson and his iconic work. This LoRA also wasn’t trained on any original captions, so you’ll need to come up with your own punchlines. Still, I'm sharing it in the hope it brings joy to fans of The Far Side and evokes a little of that nostalgic magic.

Usage

Use the LoRA at full strength (1.0) and trigger it with the phrase "a difrsd comic about" and then describe the image. If you aren't getting the look you are after, a higher strength (tested up to 1.4) will refine the style, while lower strengths (0.6-0.8) will give a more generic comic appearance. License and Permissions

In addition to the terms set in the Flux.1 [dev] Non-Commerical License, this LoRA is unavailable for on-site generation through any platform or service, and images created using this LoRA cannot be sold or used commercially. This LoRA should not be merged or mixed, nor should its output be used to train other models. This LoRA and its output are intended only for personal use.
