The SKS ( Self-loading Carbine of Simonov system) is a semi-automatic (only) rifle firing the intermediate 7.62x39 cartridge (the same one used by the more famous AK) adopted by the Soviet army immediately after World War II. While replaced relatively quick in Soviet use due to the discovery that the AK did pretty much everything the SKS did at least as well and there was no need for both, the (high command of the) Maoist Chinese would become incredibly fond of their version of it, the Type 56 Semi-Automatic Rifle (sometimes known in western circles as the Type 56 Carbine to distinguish it from semi-automatic only versions of the other, AK based, Type 56) and it would become a icon of PLA propaganda. China would also supply large quantities of Type 56 carbines to the Vietcong, making it an icon of both the Vietnam War and Sino-Vietnamese War.

For use with humans: holding gun, holding weapon, (“aiming” is in base model but not in training data)
Optional: gun sling, foldbayo (actually couldn’t find any good pics with the bayonet deployed)
The famous “chicomrig, load bearing equipment” the rifle was often paired with and “charger clip” (using British name to avoid collision with the "dancer") were both tagged as they showed up, but I doubt they’ll be spawnable in any kind of quality
Made of 20 illustrations of the rifle, 2 anime screenshots, and 4 photos (including one public domain photo of a Vietcong holding the rifle). This was actually on my maybe list for after I finished all my conversions, but the contest and cathodeDreams’s Remington Model 870 Shotgun LoRA showing me Illustrious could actually handle a long gun LoRA made me give a go early. Even if the rifle renders fine, it doesn't really know how to hold a rifle properly.
