Ella Purnell was born in the Whitechapel area of London and grew up in Bethnal Green. She attended Bethnal Green Montessori, Forest School, the City of London School for Girls, and the Young Actors Theatre Islington. She also took weekly classes at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, studying acting, singing, and dance.

Career:

Ella began her career as a child actress in West End theatre and films. Her early roles include "Never Let Me Go" (2010), "Intruders" (2011), and "Maleficent" (2014). She gained wider recognition for her role in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" (2016) directed by Tim Burton. Other notable film roles include "Army of the Dead" (2021) and "Churchill" (2017).

On television, Ella has starred in series such as "Yellowjackets" (2021–present), "Belgravia" (2020), and "Fallout" (2024–present). She has also voiced characters in animated series like "Arcane" (2021–2024) and "Star Trek: Prodigy" (2021–2024).

Personal Life:

Ella's parents separated soon after she was born, and she stayed with her mother. She has three younger half-brothers on her father's side: Enzo, Noa, and Leon. Ella was once in a relationship with English musician James Coates and is currently in a relationship with Canadian-Italian actor Rob Raco.
