Vivien Leigh was a celebrated British actress, born on November 5, 1913, in Darjeeling, British India. She is best known for her iconic roles as Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" (1939) and Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951), both of which earned her Academy Awards for Best Actress. Leigh's career spanned both stage and screen, with notable performances in Shakespearean plays and other classic works. She was married to actor Laurence Olivier from 1940 to 1960, and they often performed together in stage productions. Despite her success, Leigh faced personal challenges, including struggles with bipolar disorder and chronic tuberculosis, which ultimately led to her death on July 8, 1967.
