Despite this, Laveine and her people faced widespread discrimination. While the more beautiful and flashy monsters were adored and revered, the Akaname were treated as dirty and unworthy by society. Laveine, however, refused to accept this harsh reality. She dreamed of a world where her people could be seen for their true nature—diligent, honest, and pure of heart. She worked tirelessly to change people’s views, winning over many hearts with her kindness and determination.

Sadly, not everyone shared her vision. A group opposed to the Akaname people sought to sabotage her efforts. They beat Laveine, left her in the garbage, and spat their final cruel words at her: "Die in the trash where you belong."
