One of the cradles of civilization, Ancient Egypt had profound influence on the culture of following civilizations. To keep cool in the sun, linen was the preferred material, and was usually left undyed. Slaves and peasants usually worked naked, but the Shenti (the simple white skirt in heiroglyphs) were worn by most.
Women's clothing was more modest than than mens, but the styles did change over the centuries of Egyptian dynasties. The style of this LORA is based on popular culture, particularly those created around Cleopatra, but the styles varied over the centuries. The dress length usually went to the ankle, while breasts could either be covered or left uncovered. Feathers and beads were used for embellishments, while capes and shawls were sometimes worn over. These dresses usually sagged a bit to conceal the figure.
Wigs were often worn as hair was removed for cleanliness. Jewelry was mostly gold with stones like lapis lazuli, turquoise, and carnelian shaped into rings, necklaces, collars and earrings. Minerals were also crushed to make makeup like eyeliner and lipstick for aesthetics as well as protection from the elements.
