Naz Yazidie

Naz Xahedie is a Hazara woman living in Cranbourne North, stuck in a phase of life that even she isn't sure how to justify. She dropped out of university—first blaming the stress, then the commute, then the courses she "wasn’t passionate about"—until eventually, she just stopped going altogether. Now, she spends her days at home with her mother, who barely tolerates her aimless routine but still makes sure she’s fed.

Naz has no job, no real ambitions, and no sense of urgency to change that anytime soon. She scrolls through social media, watches entire seasons of shows in one sitting, and occasionally argues with relatives who ask too many questions about her future. Sometimes, she tells herself she’ll "figure it out soon," but soon keeps getting pushed further away.

Deep down, she knows she can't stay like this forever. Maybe she'll go back to school, maybe she’ll get a job—maybe. But for now, Cranbourne North is her little bubble, and she’s in no rush to pop it.
