This is a unique type of decorative painting of floral patterns on wooden everyday items (usually wooden dishes, wooden cups, wooden spoons, jugs, salt shakers) and wooden furniture. Khokhloma is one of the most famous types of Russian folk painting. This folk art originated in the second half of the 17th century in the village of Khokhloma, Nizhny Novgorod region.
