“Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.”
This is my first official posted LoRA—and it’s been a journey. I wanted a model that could actually capture true MechWarrior/Mech aesthetics: iconic silhouettes, wild variations, and enough detail that fans recognize what they’re seeing. I tested SD1.5, SDXL, SD3.5, and FLUX before landing on SDXL, which proved flexible and fast, yet robust enough to “get” the MechWarrior concept where other models struggled. I haven’t seen any true in-depth MechWarrior LoRAs yet, so here’s (I think) the first of its kind.
LoRA Weight Recommendations:
- 0.50+: More “unmanned walker” vibes, like the classic Robocop opening mech—lots of autonomy, less cockpit glass, more generic shapes.
- 0.90–1.00+: Pure Battletech/MechWarrior, with the signature cockpit glass and that chunky, industrial Mech look.
- The closer you get to 1.0+, the more it leans into Madcat, Madcat MKII, and Vulture influences (defaults to a hybrid if you don’t specify).
- Play with weight—every checkpoint is a bit different. On some, 1.1+ or even 1.5+ for negatives makes a big difference in reducing geometry issues.
Prompting Advice:
Get creative! You can stack classic tags—
"mechwarrior, mech, bipedal, digitigrade, weapons, lasers, missile pods, missile racks, vulture, madcat mkii, madcat, photorealistic, autocannon…"
Or use natural language for cinematic shots:
"A digitigrade bipedal mechwarrior photographed in a photorealistic lunar war zone, firing green, yellow, or red lasers with intense glow reflecting off the armor…"
Prompts drive the outcome—want that cockpit glass, chunky torso, or specific loadout? Just describe it!
Quirks & Tips:
- Sometimes the model gives “squiggly lines” instead of straight mechanical edges.
- Use DDPM, DPM2++ Karras, or DPM2++ samplers for the cleanest results.
- For best negative prompts, try:
(bad geometry)1.6, (broken geometry)1.6, (warped geometry)1.4, (distorted mech armor)1.4, (warped mech design)1.4, (asymmetrical armor)1.4, (asymmetrical mech design)1.4, (mech fingers, mech has hands)1.5, (human hands, human fingers)1.6
- Adjust negative weights as needed: on some checkpoints, 1.5+ is best; others, 1.1–1.2 may be enough.
Have fun, experiment, and post your wildest MechWarrior generations!
Remember: “digitigrade” = “reverse joint” or “chicken leg” (like a Vulture or Madcat MKII). This LoRA also supports standard humanoid mech legs.
