Wooden characters

Wooden characters are an artistic form that combines characters with wood, exuding a natural, simple vibe and the warmth of handcraft. Using raw wood, old wood, etc., as carriers, it integrates the form of characters into the grain and texture of wood through techniques such as carving, pyrography, and splicing.

The content of the characters is mostly poems, proverbs, or auspicious phrases. The natural grains of wood (such as annual rings, knots) serve as a unique background for the characters, making each work one-of-a-kind. For example, the character "jing" (tranquility) carved on walnut wood, with the varying depth of the wood grain enhancing the layering of the character; the verses pyrographed on old elm wood, where the warmth of the wood color blends with the artistic conception of the words. This form is commonly seen in pendants, ornaments, etc., representing a simple combination of natural materials and humanistic symbols.
