Yamabuki is a fox character introduced in Pop’n Music 15: Adventure (2007). His name (山吹) reflects his association with mountains and nature. He is depicted as a flute player who lives in the mountains and sometimes shares sake with villagers. Yamabuki has a dislike for greed and conflict, and those who approach him improperly may be required to offer payment before hearing his music. His role in the game draws on traditional folkloric imagery, presented in the distinct visual style of the Pop’n Music series.
