Haruhiko Mikimoto is an iconic Japanese illustrator and manga artist best known as the legendary character designer for some of anime's most influential franchises. His delicate and expressive artwork defined the look of classic series, most notably The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, where he created the indelible character Lynn Minmay. His distinctive style—characterized by soft lines and highly memorable, fashionable female leads—also graced other landmark titles, including Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket and the classic OVA series Gunbuster. Beyond his influential design work, Mikimoto has also created his own manga, such as the reimagining Macross: The First, cementing his legacy in both manga and animation.
