Yellow Tanabe is a Japanese manga artist primarily known for creating the popular supernatural action series Kekkaishi(Barrier Master). Serialized for seven years, $Kekkaishi$ follows the story of Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs to ancient rival families of spiritual barrier masters, as they protect their town from demons. The series earned Tanabe the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in 2007 in the shōnen category and was successfully adapted into an anime.
