Maya Wei from the animated series Ōban Star-Racers (2006). Maya Wei is a human star racer from Earth who was the first woman to win three Earth racing championships before the events of the series. She is the wife of Don Wei and the mother of Eva “Molly” Wei, and she died in a racing accident roughly ten years prior to the story. Although she never appears alive in the series, her memory strongly influences Don and Molly, shaping their motivations during the Ōban Grand Prix. She appears only in flashbacks, photographs, and visions, serving an emotional and narrative role rather than a physical one.
