Story

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/267062333/glorybound-erotic-dating-sim-visual-novel-18

Glorybound — A university erotic/romance dating sim (Visual Novel) based on the SimGirls flash game.

You arrive on campus with a cheap suitcase and the last cash your father could spare. Classes, jobs, nights out, a rival who wants you gone, and people who will change your life if you don’t wreck it first.

Glorybound is a dating sim with RPG elements in which the consequences of your actions matter greatly. It is inspired by Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, Baldur’s Gate, and SimGirls—reimagined as a modern, handcrafted story featuring graphics, music, and animations generated using artificial intelligence.

Try to succeed in a tough environment where not much is going your way. You could come out on top, or end up in the hospital, get arrested, fall into addiction, or die. It all depends on you and the choices you make.

1. About

In the game Glorybound, you learn to survive and thrive in a hostile world. You are the architect of your own destiny—everything depends on your choices, your stats, and your mood.

  • You aren’t rich. You aren’t special. You start out penniless.

  • The dialogue system for encounter events is similar to that in SimGirls and in games such as Fallout 1 and 2 and Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2, where your stats, reputation, or past actions bring you closer to or further from a particular outcome.

  • Non-player characters remember insults and humiliations. Your rival and their crew will sabotage you, as will others.

The game has a time limit of 250 days; after that, the game ends.

If you like the event-based dialogue system found in games such as Fallout 1 and 2, Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2, and SimGirls, you should enjoy this game.

2. Story

You are a poor student at a prestigious university.
Every choice you make matters. You have 250 days to succeed — what that means is up to you. You face many obstacles: money, bad people, difficulties, exams, grades, time, and more. To get ahead, you need to diversify; you cannot max out everything. For example, you will not have enough time to max out both strength and intelligence. You can be good at these things, but not the best — unless you earn a lot of money and start taking steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs to push your stats further. That comes with risks such as prison, addiction, and so on.

You can grind intelligence and strength, earn money, spend time in the library, or party all night in clubs or with women. Each of these paths takes time you will never get back. The girls and supporting characters have their own schedules; you may miss events — some are marked in your calendar, while others depend on the decisions you make.

The first moments of the game will be chaotic, simple, and fun: strange NPCs, quests, and random encounters that should not exist. Beneath this façade lies a realistic simulation of life — loneliness, social class, pride, addiction, prison, injuries, and difficult choices.

The Loop
Every day is divided into day and night. You decide where to go, who to talk to, what to train, and what to spend your money on. Different locations unlock access to various characters, quests, and events. Your stats and inventory influence dialogues, events, and relationships. The game was created using the RenPy engine

Core systems

Basic systems

  • Time: 250 days. Day and night cycle. Events you miss will not wait for you.

  • Stats: Improved through learning, work, sport, mini-games, items, and the consequences of previous choices. Strength, Charisma, Intelligence, Success, Luck, Stress.
If your stress is too high, you will have to stay home for a few days. The Success stat is how some people judge you.

  • Money: You earn it and spend it on upgrades, gifts, equipment, and medical bills. Items can boost your stats for a short time, but they also have side effects.

  • Reputation and flags: Offend the wrong person, and they will sabotage later scenes.

Tests
In the style of Fallout / Baldur’s Gate. Results depend on your rhetoric, strength, knowledge, luck, and previous choices.

Random encounters
Some are jokes. Some are dangerous. None are guaranteed to be fair.

Mini-games
Used to earn money and improve skills — for example swimming, hand-to-hand combat, poker, and a logic puzzle that helps you learn.

Difficulty
Glorybound is designed to be challenging. You cannot unlock everything in a single playthrough; it takes several attempts to discover everything. Achieving your goals is not easy. Death, hospital, prison, addiction, and academic failure are all possible. What matters is your location, the time of day, your stats, your money, and luck.

The full version of the game, intended for players aged 18 and over, contains intimate scenes.

3. The Cast

Six main routes ship at the funding goal, with deeper writing, voice, and animation. Everyone else starts as a living side character — real dialogue, real schedules, smaller route maps — and expands if stretch goals are hit.

Main routes at funding

Stacy — 20, student
Black hair, rich family, sports addict, human spark plug. She turns a quiet hangout into a night you will pay for tomorrow. You will hear her from the sidelines before you see her.

Amber — student, gamer
She likes to joke around. She is funny, outgoing, and sharp — if you can keep up with her. During the day she is at the park; at the mall if you miss her there.

Alice — 40, university secretary
Blonde, calm, polite. A quiet person behind her desk; a mature woman.

Giulia — 40, academic nurse
Warm and chaotic — it is impossible not to like her. A kind, calm, mature woman who has been single for a long time.

Proshiva — college student
An Indian bookworm and a library regular. Soft-spoken and serious-minded, without a boyfriend. She craves peace and quiet, though she would like to have some fun every now and then.

Shoshanna — student and swimming champion
Strict and disciplined. She is dating your rival. You will probably compete against her in swimming.

Campus gravity — side cast

Victoria — 40
A wealthy, mature woman with a figure that still turns heads, in a marriage that has lacked warmth for years. She does not need another polite dinner date. She needs passion, and she has had enough of waiting for it.

Jessica — student
Long black hair, an easy laugh, no artificial drama. Night-time strolls through the parks, fresh air, good fun that needs no explanation.

Peaches — student
A bookworm who loves sweets. A bit scatterbrained, always hungry, always smiling.

Cindy — 38, teacher
A blonde, sharp-witted, mature woman. She knows what she wants, likes to be in control, and enjoys sport and the gym.

Astrid — 35, teacher
A lovely blonde, a former model, with a gentle voice.

Michelle — student
Not very patient. From a wealthy family; she likes to have a good time.

Dakota — student
Native American heritage. Wild, full of energy, undaunted by the glitz of nightclubs, with a penchant for risk. Unpredictable.

Esmeralda — student
A Mexican woman who works part-time as a chambermaid.

Emanuella
A wealthy student from Africa.

Male NPCs

Rival
He has influence over the headmaster. Shoshanna is his girlfriend, and he has a gang of losers who take great pleasure in watching you stumble. He will taunt you in public and sabotage you in private.

The Director
He is not your friend. A martial arts master.

Dad
A poor, ailing man who is proud of his son. The last person you would want to call when your plan falls apart.

Drunks
You can get a few things sorted thanks to them.

5. HOW THE GAME IS MADE

This is an independent project by a long-time player of PC role-playing games (Fallout 1 and 2, Baldur’s Gate) and popular multiplayer games (CS, Battlefield, LoL, Dota, Warcraft 3). The storyline, game mechanics, and editing are all the work of a single person.

6. STRETCH GOALS

Goals unlock in order. We do not skip ahead. Each tier adds writing, voice, animation, and sound for that character — not a name on a poster.
