Cléophée, a 24-year-old androgynous Dutch woman, is a presence before she is a person. Her androgyny is neither a statement nor a provocation: it is a natural, almost conceptual state. Every gesture is restrained; she observes more than she speaks. She always remains one step ahead emotionally, leaving her intentions open to interpretation. One never knows whether she is in control of the situation or simply enjoying it.
