Due to her family's traditional preference for sons, Ewa's competitive spirit towards Kurau and her obsession with becoming the next head of the family intensified, giving rise to a witch within her (a metaphor for her hidden dreams and motivations). Her image is that of her student days, when Ewa was forced to abandon her graduate studies due to Kinzo's opposition. In the final confrontation with the chess player, Battler, the mystery related to Beatrice's heart was solved by its owner, ruling out the possibility that the witch Eve was the perpetrator. Meanwhile, in the world of the chessboard, Eiha's gunshot reveals the true nature of the warrior.
