Overview
This workflow turns a single photo into a 3D Gaussian Splat using SHARP, an open-source model from Apple Research. It reads one image, estimates depth, geometry, and view-dependent appearance, and outputs a splat as a PLY file in under a second. You get a live 3D preview to orbit and inspect before you download, so you can judge the result without leaving the browser. It works from one view, so you skip the multi-view capture, the photogrammetry rig, and the camera calibration that 3D reconstruction usually needs. You upload a photo, hit run, and the splat is ready in about 18 seconds. No prompt, no nodes to wire.
Who it's for: game developers, VFX artists, and e-commerce teams who want single-image 3D splats in ComfyUI without wiring the inference nodes from scratch. Not for: a full, all-sides 3D model. SHARP builds from one viewpoint, so what the camera cannot see is not in the splat. Use a multi-view or mesh pipeline when you need complete geometry.

Expectations The models are preloaded, so there is nothing to download. Running it needs a free Floyo account. Each run comes back in about 18 seconds, and the model itself infers in under a second, so batch-converting a set of photos stays quick. Two things decide the result. Well-lit images with clear depth and visible surface detail give denser, cleaner splats, while flat white walls, blank sky, and underexposed shots read as noisy or sparse. If a result looks stretched or flattened, the focal length is off, so set focal_length_mm to your real lens value from EXIF, or nudge it up to flatten and down to deepen the perspective. SHARP is MIT licensed, so your splats are yours to use commercially.
