Fablelight - A Vintage Animation Style [KREA2]

Fablelight is a vintage fantasy illustration style inspired by the hand-drawn animation and painted backgrounds of The Last Unicorn. I wanted to capture the actual visual language rather than the characters themselves. Delicate linework, unusual proportions, rich painted environments, and that slightly melancholy storybook quality.

It works across portraits, creatures, landscapes, interiors, objects, and more. Framing also changes how the style presents itself: close-ups tend to reveal softer, slightly wavy hand drawn linework and more of that traditional inked feel, while medium, full body, and distant compositions shift toward cleaner lines and crisper vintage cel shading, just like in the film.
