Yuki-onna, a yokei/yurei from Japanese folklore and horror, and made famous by a couple movies (which I'll get to).
20 me-created samples, this was more than a bit of work just to get this much, but I've succeeded on less before, give me some time to flesh out the gallery. Site generator and even image analysis is on the fritz again!
Some version of her and countless loras of parodies actually show up on this site but I made my own samples which was all the work I want to do for sure, and went for a very classical serious take based on the movies that'll hopefully work. I'm a little leery of this lora between the small sample size and the news of civitai retiring kohya, but as always we'll see how we did together. I'll give you all the historical news thats fit to use on her further below, but first starter prompts till I figure out better:
1girl, japanese, pale skin (or colored skin), long black hair, japanese clothes, flowing white kimono, white sash, wide sleeves, blue or black lips.
She has two eye colors, black irises when she's relatively calm, or yellow or gold when she's scary/angry. You should be able to do either but I'd specify which or expect bad eyes. You can maybe do her human disguise at lower lora strength with warmer colors and a traditional hair style and different kimono, but I didn't train that in.
Expect alot of snow, icy, and icy breath, so you can lean into it or neg it out. I am not good at lighting and shadow prompts, but if you think you can carry off something like Chiaroscuro or dramatic shadow, I would expect something good. I'd really neg out "hair in eyes", AI in general loves to do that but especially with her hairstyle.
She has a mask like face with defined eyes and lashes, but minimal eyebrows or plucked eyebrows. If you're familiar with woodblock (Ukiyo-e) and Emakimono you can really see where her face resembles those depictions. Lora is likely to give her long claw like nails, this is an AI thing, so you may want to neg them, its basically up to you, I don't think she needs them.
There's a few pics with her husband, he's a feudal japanese sculptor, 'bout 20 to 30 depending on the sample, not especially memorable looking, but if you want to put him in there you can try throwing in "1boy and couple"

So in short, she's basically a snow vampire of sorts (if said snow vampire was a ghost, or a demon, depending on your mood), who sucks the life force out of victims by freezing them to death. Aside from being an aspiring otaku and pretentious film nerd, I'm sure I first came upon her through the connection to Tales from the Dark Side's Lover's Vow, which is a much more western horrific version of the tale (which I recommend), but basically the same plot.
As far as I know, she first appears in Kwaidan, 1964, which is a Japanese horror anthology, there's a couple stories in this so I'll give you the super short version. Two woodcutters take refuge in a snow storm, Yuki-Onna kills the older one but spares the younger one cuz she likes the cut of his jib. She agrees to spare him if he never tells anyone what happened (this is the core of both Lovers Vow and the Snow Woman, which we'll get to). Not being stupid, Dreamboat McWoodCutty agrees.
Well, awhile later he meets a beautiful woman named Yuki (get it?), marries her, and has more than a couple kids. Yuki never seems to age, hint, hint, one day the woodcutter notes her resemblance to the Yuki-Onna, tells her about what happened. She's about to kill him, but remembers her kids and she leaves him to raise them and breaking the guy's heart (but hey, at least he lives unlike Lover's Vow).
This story was expanded into a full movie called The Snow Woman, 1968, which I recently finished, and I really recommend. It's a very domestic but romantic story, you wouldn't think it would make an engaging full length movie but I loved it. First of all, the Kwaidan version is impressive, but the Snow Woman version is just unholy. They do such a good job of making her look beautiful and frightening, its tough to be scared of most Japanese horror, especially period horror, when you grew up on Freddy Krueger and Italian knockoffs, but she is scary. I don't mean like you'll look for her under your bed scary, I mean, that is the face of someone you do not want to get angry scary. Stunning lighting and framing. But they also make her sympathetic to where you root for her.
Ok, anyway, same basic plot to start at first, two sculptors take refuge in a hut, the mentor gets frozen to death by Yuki, younger guy is sworn to secrecy. Beautiful girl named Yuki shows up, and even those of us who need glasses can tell who she is, but hey, a bit of color and not looking like she's gonna kill you makes a world of difference. This Yuki makes a better impression, looking for herbs to heal the sick widow of the sculptor she killed. We get introduced to scumbag Feudal Lord Jito and his feudal scumbag gang of feudal scumbags, if you've ever watched any of these movies you know these characters. Jito beats the widow to death after some kids breathed on him wrong, because thats what these characters do. She asks Yuki on her deathbed to marry the sculptor (he does).
Well they have ONE kid this time, which works better for the story, and we get some good scenes of Yuki mom-ing and wife-ing. Aside from alot of pretty good filler, there's two threads going here. A Shamaness suspects Yuki is not human and tries to expose her a few times, and the sculptor is commissioned in a high visibility competition to sculpt Kannon, Goddess of Mercy. The sculptor gets in trouble for cutting down a tree that scumbag Jito gave him permission to cut, specifically he wants to have his way with Yuki and having her husband owe him an absurd amount of money for the tree is a nice little inroad to that.
Well Yuki goes to the governor, who's the only prospect above Jito, but he's out of town. The governors son is deathly sick and the doctors can't do anything, so she proposes to the governors wife she can heal him. She does manage to by cooling his fever with her snow powers, and we get the sense this really took alot out of her (I think we should have had a scene where she had to drain the life force out of somebody to replenish herself later, but thats me). Governor comes back, is grateful, pays her, and when Jito's scumbags come back in an obvious attempt to arrest her husband and pressure Yuki, she pays them and they have to bug out.
Back to the goddess sculpting contest, hubby is in the running because the other contestant made a beautiful golden statue but with no compassion in its face, so he's really struggling with how to deliver this. He uses Yuki as his inspiration for the face but he still can't get the eyes.
There's some other stuff happening we won't get into here, but long story longer, Jito is still a feudal lord scumbag and still wants his way with Yuki, and again if you've ever seen these movies, you'll recognize his whole flight path here cornering her in a hut with his mooks outside and his scumbag chortle. Yuki's had enough and transforms into her Snow Woman form with those scary yellow eyes and man its gorgeous. Not just for the scene, but the righteous comeuppance Jito gets. His mooks wonder whats taking so long, come in, and get some of the same. Is it cold in here or is just you?
Well, back to the reveal, there's another confrontation with the Shamaness, who hubby drives off. He's feeling pretty lovey and confident in his marriage and confesses to her the Yuki-Onna incident, which we know is the exact wrong thing to do. Almost kills him, remembers her son, and there's a really tearful ending of her leaving him in hubbys care. Hubby sees the compassion in her eyes and resolves to finish the statue. Awwww.
