FRECKLES — Freckle & Skin Pigmentation Slider
A little sunshine, a little genetics, and several thousand tiny artistic decisions.
FRECKLES is an SDXL concept slider that adds adjustable freckling and natural-looking pigmentation to skin, without needing to specify freckles directly in your prompt.
From a delicate dusting across the bridge of a nose to more pronounced freckles on cheeks, shoulders, arms, and other exposed skin, the slider gives you another way to bring individuality and detail to your characters.
And freckles aren't just for redheads.
Try different hair colors, skin tones, ages, genders, lighting conditions, and portrait styles. Fair skin may reveal freckles with strong contrast, while darker complexions can produce subtler, richer pigmentation patterns.
Recommended strengths
0: Original checkpoint appearance.
+0.25: A delicate suggestion of freckles.
+0.50: Light, visible freckling.
+0.75: Distinct freckles and pigmentation.
+1.00: This person has freckles.
+1.50: Unusually freckled.
Above +1.50: Experiment with stronger pigmentation, watching for excessive spotting.
Recommended starting range: 0 to +1.
The effect is especially easy to appreciate in close portraits, natural daylight, and images where skin detail is clearly visible.
FRECKLES is intended to add pigmentation rather than change age, ethnicity, or overall identity. As with any concept slider, strong weights can introduce unwanted changes, and results depend on your checkpoint and prompt.
Tested with Juggernaut XL Ragnarok.
Because sometimes the difference between a beautiful face and an unforgettable one is a constellation of tiny dots.
