Proteus is a browser app that runs on your own NVIDIA GPU through ComfyUI. The installer finds your ComfyUI portable (or installs the official one), adds the node packs it needs at tested versions, and puts a shortcut on your desktop. No models are bundled: bring the ones you like, and the app's Setup button shows where each file goes.
An all-in-one suite. Replace a performer, Create a video (long scenes included), Upscale, pictures, character sheets, storyboards and Muse all live in one app, so you never switch workflows or wire nodes: pick a tab, fill in a short form and press the button. Proteus does the ComfyUI work for you.
What it does
Create a video (MiniMax H3): text, first/last frame, references, keyframes. Long scene in parts: one continuous shot past 15 s, in up to 8 parts that carry on from each other, picture and sound. Continue any take as one unbroken shot. A Fast preset (4 steps), and What will run shows the plan before you press Create.
Replace a performer (MiniMax H3): your own character takes over the movement of a clip you made or may use, up to 2 minutes, with the original sound, new audio, lip-sync or a new voice.
Upscale a video: RTX Video Super Resolution or SeedVR2, with Restore first for low-resolution videos (H3 and the Restore Enhance Improve LoRA bring back detail and clear blur and compression noise); More detail re-draws any video at the bigger size; smooth any take to 48 or 60 fps with RIFE or RTX Frame Generation.
Make an image (Krea 2): a two-pass quality recipe, styles, your LoRAs, follow a pose or a layout, character sheets (one character from four sides) and Enlarge (more detail, or exactly as it is).
Make a storyboard: one or two recurring characters in up to 12 shots, the same faces in every shot, on one numbered board.
Edit an image (Krea 2 Identity Edit): paint or click to select, keep only what changed, combine up to 3 pictures.
Muse (optional): Proteus' prompt writer. Your own local GGUF language model writes prompts, plans a long scene's parts and writes a storyboard's shots; Surprise me starts from a random idea.

Muse is the new name of Proteus' prompt writer (formerly Prompt Forge).
Seed tools: step a seed up or down, or pick one of your last ten.
Before / after: drag a line across an upscaled, restored or finished video to see what changed.
What will run: before you press Create, see exactly what it will do and anything that would stop it.
Presets: save a tab's settings as a tile and get them back in one click. Looks: the same for a list of LoRAs.
Wildcards: write
{red|blue|green}and each take picks one; Muse's Surprise me starts from a random idea.Themes: five colour themes, from the Theme button.
Missing models: a tab that can't run says which files it needs and downloads them for you.
RTX Frame Generation: smooth to 48 or 60 fps with NVIDIA's frame generation, about 1.5-1.7x faster than RIFE (optional: needs ComfyUI-DaSiWa-Nodes 0.5.34+ and nvidia-vfx 0.2; the README says how).
Faster Create: a Fast preset (4 steps), Sampler and Scheduler picks, an optional prompt bridge and an experimental faster attention.

Enlarge a picture: more detail (Krea 2, in tiles) or exactly as it is (SeedVR2), from a finished picture or one from your PC.
Name your takes: name a render's files, rename a take and mark the keepers (a gold star in the list).
A new layout: every tab in one column on the left, and a Now rendering column with the live preview.
Requirements: Windows 10/11, NVIDIA RTX (12-16 GB VRAM), 32 GB RAM recommended.

Licenses: MiniMax's license for the H3 weights doesn't cover every country (at the time of writing not the EU, the UK, South Korea or the US). Please read it before you download H3. The picture tabs use Krea 2, under Krea's own license.
Rules (18+ only): no minors, ever; no real people without their consent; follow each model's license. Proteus refuses prompts about children and asks who is in each picture, video or voice you bring from disk before using it.
