I use these as wildcard inputs and find it very useful to get a bit more variety. I have had no issues with using these my own models that are illustration and realism focused. I suspect as long as a fine tuned model isn't too over trained, that it will respond well to these TI's. I'm able to change hair color, skin color, face shape, etc while still retaining the details of the TI's and I haven't noticed any over training like forcing unrelated details into the images I've generated. In my testing, I've probably done at least 3+ of each that I've downloaded and hopefully I haven't missed any so far.
