BERRYBRITE PD

This is my second attempt at converting one of my SDXL models to Pony v6, and it definitely gave my a hard time, which I'll go over below.

But first, the info.

V2 Update

So I finally got this thing done, and it did come out closer than the version 1 (info on that is below).

V2 does match the original styles much more accurately, but it still has a few issues, plus one minor change.

The rbrite (for Rainbow Brite style) and tkid (for 2D cartoon style) both stayed as they were, and the training worked well for them, however the former sberry trigger (for strawberry shortcake style) had to be completely changed as there seemed to be some interference with the tag. So instead I used a new sbsc tag for this style, and that seems to have done the trick.

Overall this version is much better, but I will say this, using the "strawberry shortcake" character name does seem to produce a slight overbaked look, especially when used with the sbsc style tag. This also happens with the "rainbow brite" character name, but is less apparent. Other than that, you may need to prompt for human/humanoid characters (especially with the sbsc tag, as this one for some reason just outputs anthros sometimes).

Here's an example sheet.

P.S. the backgrounds/color matching in these examples is caused by a certain collection of images in the dataset. I believe this can be accomplished by adding 'digital art" and "colorful background" to your prompts, and the color should be based on any specific colors in your prompt. Though I haven't done extensive testing on it, so I don't know its limits.

The info below is all for v1.

BerryBrite is a lora meant to try and capture the character design styles (not the specific characters) of the classic Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake series, with an extra 2D pixar-esque style thrown in for variety. Thus it is three styles in one.

This lora is actually a merge of two different training attempts, where I changed the style tags in the second set, because two of the original tags were being influenced by other styles in the base Pony model. I'll talk more about this with the examples coming up.

That said, this version had some issues with certain styles, namely Strawberry Shortcake, but overall it was still producing some neat results, so I just wanted to share.

So, with the original model I used three tags, RBrite, SBerry, and TKid for the Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, and 2D pixar-esque styles, repectively. However the "Berry" in SBerry and "Kid" in TKid were not unique enough, and caused other influences. Though "Brite" in RBrite is fairly unique to the Rainbow Brite character, I still changed all three tags to rbrt, sbry, and tkd.

But, as you can see, this came with its own set of problems. The original tag "TKid" just mixed the original style with other base Pony styles, while the new tag "tkd" stayed closer to the original style.

The "RBrite" tag did lean closer to the original style, but if the prompt doesn't specifically point toward a human/humanoid character it may give you more anthros, as for the new "rbrt" tag, I think it's tied to an anthro/pony artist in the base Pony model, so it will likely give you more pony art if you don't specifically prompt for anything else (though this isn't as apparent above, because the character tags I used did lean toward humanoid).

As for the "SBerry" and "sbry" tags, the original Strawberry Shortcake style is pretty much lost entirely, and as you may have noticed the "SBerry" tag will throw in random berries. Both of these tags seem to be pulling influence from an anthro/fantasy creature artist in the base Pony model, but it's a nice style regardless.

I also noticed with using the specific character tags Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake you do get some interesting results, but remember it won't be exactly like the original characters.

Even with the Strawberry Shortcake character tag, and the SBerry or sbry style tags, it's still not even close to the original style. But by no means is it bad.

In future training I will change this tag entirely to try and get back to the Strawberry Shortcake style, but for now this is it.

The Rainbow Brite character tag, as you can probably guess, pulls some influence from the Rainbow Dash pony character. You can even see it attempting to add her cutey mark to several of the images.

I also threw in a Pony character tag just for fun, this is a Pony model after all.

I will update this model if I can get it trained to better reproduce these style, but until then, I hope you enjoy it.

All of my models may be used for other training and merges.
