Care Bears (Pony)

So, I made the Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake style lora, and I wanted to do another classic style.

Enter the Care Bears.

This lora is based on the classic painting/art style (not the cartoons) of the popular Care Bears characters. While it can recreate some of the actual characters it is mostly aimed at capturing the style, and can be used to create original characters.

I don't have much to say about it, from my tests I haven't seen any issues, so here's some examples.

First, some standard animals that aren't part of the actual Care Bears data set, to show how it can create new characters in this style.

Lunar Moth, Sea Turtle, Crocodile (with fur), Crocodile (with scales),

Owl (with fur), Owl (with feathers), Peacock (yes, it looks like a parrot), and Bat

As you can see I tested the crocodile with scales and the owl with feathers, but also tested them with fur. This is because all of the Care Bear character images in the data set (even the Penguin and Elephant) have fur, as they kind of all look like plush toys, so I wanted to see how both styles looked.

And with the Peacock, it came out more like a Parrot instead, this shows that some animals that may not be a big part of the base Pony data set might not turn out well.

Next I tried some more mythical creatures, which were also not part of the training data.

Jackalope, Mermaid, Dragon, and Phoenix

The mermaid and dragon came out fine right away, though, the mermaid outputs all shared this similar design, which is more like a sea serpent/water dragon.

The phoenix wasn't too hard to get a good image, but it did tend to make characters at a smaller scale (at least in my few tests), I can only assume this is influenced by some training data from the base Pony that has images with smaller phoenixes in the sky.

The Jackalope I can only assume doesn't have enough data from the base Pony model, so I had to be more specific with my prompts (jackalope, rabbit ears, antlers, etc.), and keep trying until I got something decent.

I ran tests to see which of the actual Care Bear characters in the training data could be produced to some extent, here are the examples. Please note, not all of the results will be consistent.

First the main Care Bear cast.

Cheer Bear, Love-a-Lot Bear, Tenderheart Bear, Champ Bear, Funshine Bear, Good Luck Bear, Wish Bear, Bedtime Bear, Grumpy Bear, and Share Bear (original milkshake design, not newer lolipop design)

For the specifics on prompts used to get these results check the image posts, it's a combination of "name, color of fur, type of belly symbol".

Cheer, Tenderheart, Champ, Funshine, Good Luck, and Grumpy all seem to give fairly consistent results, but show some minor signs of overtraining. Bedtime, Love-a-Lot and Share had some issues with the consistency of the belly symbols/badges, I had to cherry pick these results. And Wish bear just doesn't seem to have captured the belly symbol/badge that well, so it usually comes out as a jumbled mess.

Now the Care Bear Cousins, the official non-bear animals.

Lotsa Heart Elephant, Proud Heart Cat, Brave Heart Lion, Playful Heart Monkey, Treat Heart Pig, Gentle Heart Lamb, Swift Heart Rabbit, Loyal Heart Dog, Cozy Heart Penguin, and Bright Heart Raccoon.

While there overall shapes were captured fine, there were more issues with the belly symbols/badges in this bunch. Lotsa Heart, Proud Heart, Gentle Heart, Bright Heart, and Treat Heart were more consistent here. Brave Heart and Loyal Heart wouldn't show the correct belly symbols/badges at all, and Swift Heart took a few attempts to get it right. As for Cozy Heart Penguin, this one kept trying to use the winged heart symbol from Swift Heart Rabbit instead of its own. And Playful Heart Monkey's symbol is a heart balloon, with a birthday horn and candy/confetti (not sure exactly), but it just adds random shapes on top of the balloon.

Also, though it's less noticeable with Grumpy Bear, Bright Heart Raccoon and Grumpy both seem to be influenced by some data from the base Pony model, so the style is slightly different for both of them.

I hope you enjoy.

All of my models may be used for other training and merges.
