The Renault Sport Spider was a lightweight, mid-engined sports car produced by Renault from 1996 to 1999. Initially launched without a windscreen (though a small wind deflector was standard), later versions were offered with a full windscreen to improve practicality. The car featured a 2.0-liter F7R inline-four engine producing 150 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. What made the Spider particularly special was its lightweight aluminum chassis and fiberglass body, resulting in a weight of just around 930 kg (2,050 lbs), making it a very agile and engaging sports car. Only about 1,800 units were produced during its brief production run, making it a relatively rare vehicle today.
