デコトラ(Dekotora)

デコトラとは、特殊な装飾部品や塗装などを用いて外装を飾った貨物自動車（トラック）。1970年代のブーム化と同時に警察による取り締まりが図られ、業務にも用いられるデコトラの多くは個人事業主や、装飾を容認する小規模運輸会社の車両が中心となっているほか、個人の趣味としてイベント参加用に作られる車両が増えつつある。

Decotora are freight vehicles (trucks) decorated with special decorative parts and paint. They became popular in the 1970s, but police cracked down on them, and most decotora used for business purposes are now privately owned or operated by small transport companies that allow decorations, but there is also an increasing number of vehicles made for personal hobby events.
