In that future, society is run by a megacorporation that I would describe as "an exercise in horseshoe theory". The megacorporation, understanding it owns all wealth, realizes that inflation/deflation is directly tied to it's own business practices, making the value of money arbitrary to them. Material assets are the only thing they can rely on for valuation. It then proceeds to go through extensive lengths to reduce what it's people need to buy to go about their lives.

This genius invention is the hologem. It projects any appearance you want onto a bodysuit. You never need to buy any more clothing than a few spares, nor a closet to keep them. While older models were stuck only projecting in blue colors, that bug was fixed in later releases with 'basic blue' being seen as a formal color in office settings.

This fellow is another social media nobody using his gem for cosplay with no one looking.

I find this display of personality endearing, but I'd probably loath this guy if I knew him IRL.

Also, I included that shot where he's showing off his butt just because I thought it was miraculous it had two versions of him in one picture.
