Controlnet QR Pattern (QR Codes) - v1.0 Review

Great model, great results! Probably the closest I've ever seen to the unreleased model. The QR parts become actual objects, not just dark/bright spots on something else. For best results:

  • set the base resolution to at least 768x768 but better 1024x1024; 512x512 kinda works, you need to increase the weight to 2 and then go down from there if it scans fine.

  • the weight should be as low as possible for the code to be readable (1.1-1.5)

  • try to set more steps (40-50)

  • set Starting Control Step (SCS) to as high value as possible (0.05-0.1, if you're lucky try to go higher) to let the base model create some foundation. Otherwise the results are less creative.

  • the ending step gives some space for postprocessing, can go down to 0.6-0.75.

Observation: weight adds contrast to the QR, and SCS adds creativity. If you set too high SCS, and the code stops reading, try increasing weight to compensate.

With this it should be possible to get great results with QR organically integrated into the scene rather than being overlaid on top.
