Image Sequence Compare V5 - Image Sequence Compare V5 Showcase

Image Sequence Compare

A single offline HTML file for comparing AI image generations side by side. Point each panel at a different run (different checkpoint, CFG, sampler, LoRA or prompt), and step through all of them together, image by image.

Nothing to install and nothing uploaded. Download image-sequence-compare.html and open it in your browser. It works best in Chrome or Edge; Firefox and Safari work too, but without remembered sessions and folder watching.

Two ways to load images

Independent panels. Choose 2, 3 or 4 panels. For each one, pick (or drag in) a folder and choose its starting image, which can be any file in the folder. The arrows move every panel forward or back one image from its own starting point.

Grouped set. Select all the images from several runs at once, and the app splits them into one panel per run. It can split them two ways:

  • Fixed count: for example, 104 images at 26 per group gives 4 panels.

  • By settings change: the app reads the generation settings saved in each image. You choose which setting defines a group (checkpoint, CFG, steps, a single ComfyUI node input, or a wildcard in the prompt), and it makes one panel per value.

Features

  • Reads embedded settings from ComfyUI, Automatic1111/Forge, InvokeAI and NovelAI images (PNG, JPEG, WebP). Panels label themselves by what differs, such as “CFG 7” or the checkpoint name.

  • Settings overlay (I): shows each image’s settings, with the ones that differ between panels highlighted.

  • Prompt diff (D): finds the text all your prompts share and marks the parts that change as numbered wildcard slots, listing every value each slot took. You can group panels by any slot.

  • Compare two panels (X): wipe slider, flicker, or a difference heatmap showing exactly which pixels changed.

  • Loupe (L): a magnifier that shows the same spot in every panel. Place each panel’s loupe separately (on each face’s eyes, for example), then lock them together to move them as a group.

  • Synced zoom and pan across all panels.

  • Thumbnail strip (T) and contact sheet (C) showing every step of every panel; click any image to jump to it.

  • Ratings: star (Shift+1–5) or flag (F) images, see each panel’s average, and export a CSV.

  • Export the current panels as one labeled comparison image.

  • Align by seed or by filename number, so a skipped image doesn’t throw the panels out of step.

  • Video support: MP4 and WebM files play in sync.

  • Chrome/Edge extras: remembers your folders, start images and labels between visits, and Watch folders adds new images while a batch is still generating.

  • Also: autoplay, show one panel alone, drag panels to reorder, hide panels, rename panels, choose the background (including checkerboard), hide all controls, fullscreen.
