Pikachu? Kling image reference is questionable...

Yesterday I revisited Pikachu theme in SD1.5, SDXL and Flux, and today wanted to give it a try in Kling/Kolors too, but also to use Image Reference feature for the very first time. There will be a separate true pikachu Kolors post later, but I made an experiment I wanted to share with you.

I used the elegant woman "test" picture generated by Flux as a reference:

hoping for some realistic pikachu, but it mostly only rehashed what was in the original image, making it more like img2img than style reference (as described in tooltip).

Conclusion: Always have a subject that you want to generate in the reference image, otherwise other subject in reference image may influence the result more than your prompt (contrary to what Kling AI site tells).

It's still kind of funny how Kolors made the image swarming with more people. :)
