SDXL vs SD 1.5

Strangely enough, I've had more luck getting a 'transition' image with 1.5 models (eg: Deliberate [used as one of the input images], Transformix ) than with SDXL (FenrisXL, ZavyXL). Curious what SDXL checkpoints or prompting could achieve the same results as in 1.5 if you've got suggestions!
