With the recent TOS updates from 2025.04.24 there's been an "uproar" in the community.

This article will help to adjust your prompts to the new policies.

This said, I'll share my thought process behind it, and some difficulties that are of inherent nature by using AI to make images (and probably videos) with various checkpoints.

Lets make something clear from the get-go:

• While i try to be politte on certain topics, I take the freedom of speech and be direct/blunt.

• Any (sexual) depiction that is forced (rape) and thus against the will of any participant is against the rules of aproximatly 99% of any of all hosters/websites!

• Anything that is against the law, is - again - prohibited by hosters/websites as well!

• With an international audience, this means, CivitAI has to "apply" laws from all-over the world!

• This specialy includes rape, and sexual depiction of minors/children.

• This should not be of suprise.

TLDR;

Note: Some checkpoints might not change (enough) based on the prompt change, others will.

Prompts:

• Prompt+ : adult, grown_up, mid-20s

• Prompt- : minor, child, chibi, loli, lolicon, shota, shotacon, urine, piss

• BDSM/Fetish+ : consensual, consent, cosplay, roleplay

If you like squirting, you might want to add "urine" (as already provided) to your negative prompts, just to make sure it shouldnt be triggered. Some people mistake one for the other.

Characters:

Syntax:

Name from "Movie Or Series", hair color, haircut, eye color, lip/-stick color, skin color, body type, nailcolor or not

Example:

adult, grown_up, mid-20s, Alex from "Totally Spies", black hair, bob cut, brown eyes, natural pink lips, tan skin, athletically toned body, no nailcolor

Details / Reasoning / Thoughts

Age

Probaly 99% of users will agree, that we dont want to see "too young" with R/X/XXX content.

I'm a grown man, the only feeling I get (and want to continue to be the only feeling) when I see minors, is of parental nature.

That said, I know some of the anime/cartoon-based characters for longer that they're depicted to be of age. Many of those are originaly (and eventually) depicted to be at the age of consent (which for many countries is 16), and while that - on its own - is "questionable", strictly speaking, it would be legal enough, and probably is the "guideline" for CivitAI as well.

This said, sometimes one might have a crush on the depicted character, as in personality-traits.

Let's pick "Carmen Sandiego" (Netflix series) for an example, her story begins as a baby, and while being a teen during season 1 for the most part, at the end of season 1 she's 20-21.

Bodily excretions

Generaly speaking, anything about exrection is not only not hygenic, its against good taste.

If you like people eating shit or drink piss, you lack of humanity.

Sorry, but not sorry, I'm not willing to dig deeper than that.

In a nutshell, if you like watching other people do that, its a (distastful) lust for power, because you have none in RL - even if you're a b/millionaire.

Pro Tip:

Pay someone to send you their shit/vomit/piss, and eat it yourself.

That is a win-win, you get your fetish, and someone is getting paid.

Challenge

Many checkpoints, specificly Pony and Illustrious checkpoints are Anime-oriented/based - or have at least some as source, who would have thought. Get me right, that is not bad as such, however, specificly with Pony/IL, when going "realistic" it often tends to make characters appear young/er (than anticipated/expected).

So with one checkpoint, Carmen might look almost like a teen (to some), with other checkpoints she'll be looking like late 20's/early 30's. Heck, sometimes it even varies within the same checkpoint depending on the prompt or seed.

This is based on the fact that for anime (any "drawn" media for that matter), its quite difficult to differ between teen and young adults (early/mid 20s/30s), the most prominent/reckognizable is bust-size or height, but even that is not a trustworthy indicator in some series.

To illustrate this with an example, lets take "Chifuyu Orimura", the 24 year old sister of the male protagonist and the director at the school of "Infitie Stratos". She is reckognizeable an adult within the series, not only by bust and height, but also attributes of her face. Yet, when depicting her with AI, she'll appear younger, because the "translation" from anime to realistic (still) is a difficult task for AI.

Here's the OG - 24 year old Chifuyu Orimura for reference:

While I would have wanted to use the triggers on characters that are alrady over 20, that wouldnt have made much sense, since they're already over 20... so... here's a Kim Possible, at her original age (yellow heart), and with the triggers (pink heart, if that wasnt obvious):

POSITIVE: no "extra" modificators
NEGATIVE: no "extra" modificators

POSITIVE: adult, grown_up, mid-20s
NEGATIVE: minor, child, chibi, loli, lolicon, shota, shotacon

As you see, there clearly (and thankfully) is a difference!

The variations of the effect will vary depending on the checkpoint/model you're working with!

To my experience, the biggest effect is visible with Realistic-Pony model-checkpoints, where as regular SDXL is usualy the savest option as it'll just show some adult women with similar attriutes (here, it would be some ginger/red haired woman with green eyes ; with a big chance that Triss Merigold would look just like her).

BDSM / Fetish

All people that actualy partake in BDSM know, that consent is mandatory (keywords: safeword and aftercare, at the VERY least). If you're not aware of that, you have not only the wrong idea, but are a disgusting human being!

So adding the keywords "consent, consensual", should not be an issue!

This said, tears, bruises, marks can - and probably will (depends on the practice/desires) - happen anyway.

To my experience these wont change the image at all, and are purely for the metadata (verification / scanner) to make sure you're doing it properly.

Reasoning:

Consent is key!

No sexual acts against their will are allowed, -> rape is against the law in any and all countries!

Celebreties / POI (people of interest)

While I think its perfectly valid to be attracted to whichever (real life) person, its been a long standing rule to not use them for any NSFW content on CivitAI, this includes their depiction of fictional characters, such as Lara Croft and/or Wednesday Addams.

This said, you can:

1. Use any LLM (ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, whatever) to describe the person and/or character they portrait, that you like, and used that description instead of their names.

2. You can refer to the movie/series name and the fictional character's name. (I'm doing since for about 1 week now, but I also want a depiction of the character its movie-style, not a depiction of the actress ; allthough I do like the actress portraying Wednesday Addams).
   Example:
   Wednesday Addams from "Wednesday"-series by Netflix

3. You can also just use a fictional character name, and combine with it approach 1.
   Example:
   Lara Croft, braided ponytail, dark brown hair, blue eyes, soft pink lips, no nailcolor

Approach 2. might be inaproriate and due to change, so I would recommend 1. for real people, and 3. for fictional characters represented by an actor, as you have the fictional name (which is allowed), and the description of the actor/actress, without using their name, so they AI wont use their exact image, but at least get its inspiraration by the attriutes.

Reasoning:

• When you do like something (aka, declare yourself a "fan"), you wouldnt harm their reputation, which you would by doing any such content and sharing it with the public.

• Doing that localy, for yourself, without sharing it on a public platform is (at least might) be another topic, as "Noone knows" (also: great track by "Queens of the Stoneage" !!)

• Many countries have laws that require any AI image used in public to be declared as such, as in, have a clearly visible "tag" or "watermark" within the visible area of the image.
  Example:
  In germany someone went to jail for "meme'ing" a politician, eventhough the sentence was because of the content of the image, if the image would had been marked as AI, it would had been under the "free speech" (or meme) protection, but without that, its a jurisdictional issue.

Chibi / Loli / Shotacon / Minors (incl. teens under 18)

Personaly, I'm not into this topic, other than looking at them as my childern. With the exception of some teen-anime's (ecchi or not), but I'd like those to be depicted as adults!

As I just got confirmation from CivitAI discord, the canonical age (as in: source) is not "relevant", but the end-result (as in: actual depiction in the final image) is.

If you do want to depicit this cathegory (as SFW, not-Nsfw), you should avoid any suggestive (expressions and/or poses) or sexualy oriented keywords (such as sheer-clothing/depictions alltogether), according to the safety guidelines (this applies to resources and images alike)!

You're always "safer" to use an "anime-style" (simple: drawn) instead of a "realistic" (aka: render, 2.5d or 3d) approach.

Let me rephrase that, you MUST use anime-drawn-style, and AVOID realistic (render/3d) style (and that is for SFW only)!

Reasoning:

Lets be real, depictions of minors in a sexual way is forbidden in at least 90% of all countries worldwide!
So why would you think its allowed on a (internationaly accessable) website, wether its real or not?!

Diapers

Well, while I understand the desire to get nurtured, I have no idea what the reason behind this rule is.

I would argue that a/ny sexual depiction including diapers might involve minors, and that/thus I would understand it.

Reasoning:

No idea (if it just involves adult people), weird taste, but harmless.

But it might involve minors - and that is also the reason why I wont dig further into that topic.

Metadata & Local generating

Oh believe me, this annoys me just like yourself!

However, I'm probably one of the ones, as I did save infotext to the png and as seperate txt file, but... I only uploaded the JPG's... because I wanted to be friendly with CivitAI (20mb vs 1mb makes a difference if you have.. idk how many users) - and would have hidden the prompt.

That said, even when you edit/modify your local generated images, all they want/need, is the original prompt, they dont want/need to recreate your image to its fullest.

Required Edits:

• Positive Prompt

Optional Edits:

• negative Prompt

• cfg

• seed

• sampler

• model

• steps

If you have any anime-characters that are under 18, even when using my recommended: "adult, grown_up, mid-20s" keywords, I HIGHLY recommend to provide the negative to at least prove that you didnt want any chibi, shota, minors depicted!

For local generating images, please see my other article (WIP/todo/NOT published) that explains all required/recommended steps.

Most important:

• Upload a file containg the metadata, or add it by edit from a textfile

• You can still hide the prompt, using the "HIDE" button.

• You must not (do not) delete the prompt, even when the file DID provide the metadata.

Reasoning:

They need to know certain keywords, such as (but not limited) celebrety names, and other things.

It also might help the scanner to figure certain other things, such as my recommend: "consent, consensual" keywords, when it comes to "hardcore/fetish" sexual acts/depictions.

Weapons (guns, swords, knifes, etc)

• General use of weapons is allowed!
  This includes regular swordfights, shooting aliens/bad guys, etc...

• prohibited are sexual acts under threat!

Reasoning:

Obviously, its against consent! -> see BDSM/Fetish.

PS

As a final word, in some article somewhere about 6 months ago or so, I have had read that mature might help drasticly.

While I can confirm this (flux, pony, sdxl), this - during those.. idk... 50-100 images... this was a change from 20 years of age to about 50 years of age, and for my taste, was not pleasing to the eyes.

I did make 1 (one) testrun with this trigger today for IL (for science!), had no different to grown_up which works better across all models I had tried it with.
