Base Prompt and Settings

So to provide you dear reader with a breakdown of the Illustrious Checkpoints I'm going to step through them using the exact same prompt and settings. The only LoRA I'll use with each of the checkpoints will be Lulu (aka lulu_prime).

Onto the Show

For this article I'll be posting two images from each Illustrious Checkpoint without any Hi-Res fixes or adjustments. I'll give my personal rating of ⭐, ⭐⭐ or ⭐⭐⭐ based on the results and how likely would I use that model based simply off the two images produced. If I encounter a two star model that I'm particularly interested in exploring further I'll add a plus sign (i.e. ⭐⭐+) Where applicable I'll add in any personal thoughts or opinions on the Checkpoint.

21: Nova Cartoon XL - v5.0 ⭐⭐⭐

The Nova Cartoon series might not be in my top three, but when I'm looking to create my comics it's a go to. It generally needs Hi-Res fixing as the initial images don't always come out flawless, but it is a good Checkpoint and one I've used time and time again. It can be a little prone to creating duplicate clones of characters I've found.

22: Nova Reality XL ⭐

I've found that the issue with using realistic models is when the faces and bodies of the individual look dissimilar. I will say that usually Lulu's hair looks flat and stringy when rendered in a realistic format so this model did a great job there, but for a character sheet I'd expect it to look like sisters, not cousins.

23: Nova Animal XL ⭐

Perhaps it's just me, but the images look a little blurry and plasticky. Not bad if you're looking for that effect, but alas I'm not.

24: Banana Splitz XL ⭐⭐++

It can be difficult to rate results when so many of them look so similar. For me, this model does a good job in having slender legs, but not twig thin. The hair looks good! And it might seem silly, but the details on the shoes look great while other models just look like black blobs. I'd imaging with Hi-Res fixes the images would come out looking great.

25: RAMTHRUST'S-NSFW-PINK-ALCHEMY-MIX ⭐

The ankles look so tiny and the model appears confused on where the sock ends and the shoe starts. Like a lot of models it also wants to add patent leather to parts of the skirt.

26: Madly Mix ver NightNoob ⭐⭐

27: Illustrij EVO ⭐

28: Nova Asian XL ⭐

Seems like some very heavy bags under Lulu's eyes while the poses seem too rigid.

29: Babes Illustrious By Stable Yogi ⭐

The hair is all wrong, too stringy and flat.

30: Yiff in Hell ⭐⭐

It feels like the model could generate some good images, but what worries me are the flourishes I didn't ask for in the outfit makes me a little worried.

31: XAVIER ⭐⭐++

I made the initial assumption that XAVIER would disappoint me, hence the reason I always skip past it. But I have to say, I thought these test images turned out really well and I like how the poses appear a bit more interesting and life like than some of the other checkpoints.

32: Oops! All Toons - Illustrious v1.0 ⭐

While the images with Oops! All Toons - Illustrious v1.0 look on par with other models, my issue was one in the past where no matter what I did, the model kept returning furries/ferret people. I found it very frustrating.

33: Nova Unreal XL ⭐

34: A-mix [Illustrious] ⭐

35: Nova Anime3D XL ⭐

36: Nova Flat XL ⭐

37: richyrichMixIXL ⭐⭐

Once again, delicate ankles, but other than that I like the general look of the images produced.

38: Nova Kemono XL ⭐⭐+

I mentioned with one of the earlier Nova models that I feel they often need Hi-Res fixing to improve the character's facial features. I feel like if you'd take the time and spend the buzz these images could be good.
