Pat Parker, War Nurse (Speed Comics, 1941)

Speed Comics #13 (May 1941) introduced a character called Pat Parker, War Nurse. At first she was just a two-fisted British nurse who did things like capture German U-boats singlehanded. At the end of issue #15, she put on a costume and mask, and War Nurse became her superhero name.

After a few more issues, she assembled a group of sidekicks to become a group called the Girl Commandos. Some more issues after that, Pat ditched her individual costume in favour of the whole group donning Lady Blackhawk style uniforms.
