This will be my last Loras package until further notice. The reasons are explained below the IMPORTANT note. It will consist of two parts: first, the new Loras, and second, the illustrious versions of older models.
IMPORTANT (This is probably the longest description I've ever written xd)
Over the last two months, I have been following all the drama unfolding on Civitai from various sources such as Reddit and Discord. Many of you will already be aware of Civitai's bans on extreme fetishes and ridiculous cases such as depictions of non-consensual sex. In recent months, I have not posted any lora on the platform for this reason and due to the uncertainty of whether the platform will shut down or unfairly change its rules. Even if I don't post NSFW content, I have enough reasons to worry about my content. In the past, Civitai has removed models for ridiculous reasons such as including characters in bikinis (even though the bikini is their official uniform and how they appear in the video game) or has unfairly tagged images that are not NSFW.
Personally, I would like to add my voice to the widespread discontent over the poor decisions made by Civitai over the last two years and the loss of trust caused by those poor decisions. Many of these decisions negatively affected anime creators, myself included.
Since its inception, Civitai has been somewhat reluctant to become what it has gradually ended up being (an anime website closer to what Rule 34 or Gelbooru would be). We can see this in the existence of Civitai Green, as well as its attempts to be a platform accessible to the casual public. You can't be everything in this life, and Civitai seems to have already made a clear decision.
Some people point to Visa and Mastercard as the direct culprits or to laws as a means of pressuring regulatory changes, but I believe it is a shared responsibility. Civitai has also openly acknowledged that they can shadowban models, and that they are in an unfavorable position in negotiations with their current payment provider (creators also have no say in these negotiations, even though we are the ones who mostly drive the website and make it a real success). For reasons such as this, I have seen several creators leave the platform, unhappy with the changes at Civitai. I am not going to leave the platform permanently yet, as I believe Civitai could still change for the better if they set their minds to it.
It should also be noted that this is not about whether we creators who complain like the deleted content or are 100% in favor of it, but rather about the concept of the Overton window. Civitai could be gradually preparing to delete loras for more arbitrary reasons or change the terms of use, which I doubt even its biggest defenders would want. So, without further ado, I have decided to temporarily stop uploading files to Civitai. Civitai is currently in survival mode. It is not going to fix the search engine that recommends our loras or images, it is not going to fix the metrics and notifications that are seven months behind, and it is not going to care enough about medium-sized creators to make us feel safe on its platform. That's why I'm going to give Civitai some time to reflect and regain trust while making its platform monetizable and scalable again. After this period, if Civitai has significantly worsened, I'm afraid this will be the end of our professional relationship and this message will be my last contribution to the platform.
That said, let's not be negative and give Civitai the benefit of the doubt. Their imperfections make them more credible, and I am 100% sure that some of the decisions they have made, despite being annoying, are necessary for the open ecosystem.
Another thing, in the coming months I will probably be looking for someone to work with, because even if I don't upload loras, I want my datasets to be useful to other people or to be able to help others with their projects. If you are interested in working with me as a creator, let me know via private message.
