The design brief was as follows:

  • Utilize a dark, moody colour palette dominated by blacks, deep reds, and purples, with occasional stark contrasts using whites or greys.

  • Lighting should be atmospheric, often coming from candles, lanterns, or moonlight to create shadows and an air of mystery.

  • Incorporate textures that evoke a sense of the arcane or forbidden—rustic wood, ancient stone, weathered leather, and fabrics like velvet or lace. These can be used in objects, clothing, or the architecture of buildings.

  • Pentagrams, runes, sigils, and other occult symbols. These can be subtly integrated into designs, such as patterns on animal fur, architectural details on buildings, or even the design of vehicle decals.

  • Crystal balls, tarot cards, skulls, candles, and ancient tomes can be placed within scenes or associated with subjects to reinforce the theme. Buildings might feature gargoyles or architecture reminiscent of Gothic cathedrals.

  • Scenes should feel isolated or secretive, such as dense forests at night, ancient ruins, or candle-lit interiors of stone cottages and grand halls. The sense of an unseen world or the edge of reality enhances the satanic or witch-like vibe.

  • When incorporating humans or animals, consider adding subtle transformations or unusual features—eyes that glow unnaturally, shadows that seem to move independently, or characters adorned in elaborate, ceremonial garb. Animals might be reimagined as familiars with mystical markings or unusual intelligence.

  • Transform these normally mundane subjects by imagining them as if crafted by practitioners of dark arts. Vehicles might feature elaborate, arcane carvings or be designed to appear as if powered by unknown forces. Buildings should look ancient, possibly abandoned or in use for mysterious rituals, with spires, arches, and stained glass windows.
