This workflow was more of a thought experiment. I just wanted to see if I could do it. The result was close enough to what I was looking for. I was hoping for a little more blurring between the tiles, but this was close enough. Anyway, feel free to use or experiment. My testing with human subjects did not turn out well. If you want to try that, I'd suggest smaller upscale increments using Ultimate Upscaler. You may want to do that anyway if you have limited vram.
