Fancy_dress_Flux Reviews

An interesting LoRA that adds lots of fascinating ornamentation. Although it’s aimed at dresses and costumes (which it does well), I found it could be used for other subjects too, providing weird and wonderful effects :-)

As the author points out, using the trigger word is hit-or-miss. Sometime it makes a big difference, sometimes not.

There are a couple of drawbacks to Fancy_Dress_Flux:

(1) lots of signatures/copyrights

They can show up anywhere within the generated image, sometimes up to 3 different ones in one image.

That usually means the training images have unwanted text on them. Perhaps the training images could be edited to remove text and then the LoRA retrained?

(2) hand and limb mutations

My generated images had a higher proportion of malformed hands and limbs with the LoRA compared to the same prompt without it.

This could maybe be helped by retraining with plenty of regularisation images showing malformed hands etc?

Last downside is that I seemed to get more plastic’y “fake” looking people with the LoRA - but this issue of simplistic “3D rendered” people is a known problem with Flux.1, so there’s not a lot you can do except try extra photoreal terms... or aim for cyborg/android/synthetic people of course!

I am keeping Fancy_Dress_Flux in my toolbox for adding style/ornamentation :-)
