The Winter Memempics 2025-2026 has officially come to a close! We witnessed incredible feats of prompting athleticism, where hunters scoured the depths of the Danbooru wiki to bring specific *_(meme) tags to life.
Per the official regulations, athletes were judged on image quality, meme recognizability, and strict adherence to the Danbooru wiki existence validation for the categories.
Unfortunately the judges didn't prove to be very impartial or good at following their own rules, so this is going to be a mess. To make up for it, the limit of podium spots has been lifted, rules on categories have loosened a bit, and some extra bonuses have been invented.
Regardless, today we award the medals! It will take a while, though, as will reading through this monster of an announcement. Sorry.
The events have been divided into two distinct disciplines: Solo Sports (memes focusing on a single subject) and Team Sports (memes requiring interaction or multiple subjects). Events are listed in alphabetical order under the discipline.
I will not comment on events that have only one entry, but I'm happy to discuss my opinion on them in more detail than my stupid one-liners. Just tag me in the entry or post and I'll try to give some kind of an opinion.
To get to the awards faster, I'm leaving any other extra stuff after the medals for the people who are interested, crazy or both. There might be explanations for the bonuses at the end, but no promises.
