The Offline Wildcard Prompt Studio (V1) is an app created with Claude's assistance (it did all the heavy lifting, code, etc.).

The app itself comes in the form of an html file; It should work on any device that can handle 2026 era html and such. I've tested it in Chrome, and it should work in Edge; Claude at one point in the creation processed mentioned Firefox as not working 100%, but then changed that section, though I've not tested in Firefox.

Nothing is uploaded anywhere. The app can only read and write folders YOU choose.

Features:

  1. Wildcard Files (txt files) - Choose your wildcard folder and the app creates a list of all txt files from which you can easily check contents, and even do edits in a small window, as well as add the wildcard reference to the Prompt Template.

  2. Prompt Template (where you design prompts) - Here's where you can create complex prompts. Use standard wildcard syntax. From the list of Wildcard Files, you can select the + icon and have it added to your Prompt Template where the cursor is. You can easily save this Prompt Template content in a file with the name and save location of your choice (as a txt file). If you add a wildcard reference the app can't find, it'll even show up in red to let you know.

  3. Sample (Wildcards filled in) - This section displays a sample of the prompt you're working on in the Prompt Template panel right above. It fills in the wildcards in the template (following nested wildcards that reference other files) until complete. You can copy it to the clipboard or save the sample text. Seed can be set and adjusted. And there's even a 'Roll New Sample' button. As an added bonus, each wildcard in the sample text is highlighted, and selecting that text will do a new resampling of that wildcard text only, so you can continue to adjust the individual sample as well.

  4. You can output a Batch of Random Prompts (up to 1000) as a txt file using your prompt in the Prompt template, and end up with a text file containing completed sample prompts.

  5. Output All Possible Prompts to a txt file whenever you'd like - though check the number of combinations possible first - it doesn't take long with large files to end up with 100's of thousands or more prompts. Math is cool.

  6. Output Options allow you to adjust prompt formatting and a few other options.

  7. There's even a Checks panel that identifies some problems/issues that may come up

  8. options for saving and opening templates, etc and setting default folders (for current session) also exist.

I've found this tool very useful, an often take an output of a number of sample prompts (up to 1000 at a time is possible) and load those into Stable Diffusion in the scripting area. Makes a great way to check and test how models deal with different aspects of prompts; it's highlighted to me the racial and age biases that many if not most models have, for example.

I hope this is a useful tool. Feel free to use it freely in your needs. If you're using it commercially - donate some money to a charity, help people in your community, etc.
