This is a collection of organized lists of approximately 150-200 colors that have been tested in Flux and SDXL. I started with a much longer list, and have been removing colors the models fail to consistently produce. They can be used as wildcard files if your UI supports it, or you can simply open the text files and use them for reference and inspiration.

These tend to work best if you combine them with the word "color" in your prompt. For example: "A <color-wildcard> color car".

These are the included text files:

  • color-modifiers: You can use this in front of colors-base to randomly add a modifier like light, dark, vivid, etc.

  • colors-base: A list of colors without the above modifiers.

  • colors-full: Some of the colors have added modifiers like "light" and "dark", but only on a few of the colors where it made sense. This way the list isn't ridiculously long.

  • colors-safe: Some of the colors that commonly confuse the generator into making something other than the color were removed (for example, sometimes "wisteria" generates the flower instead of only the color).

  • colors-simple: A shorter list with less color variations.

I also included a collection of 512x512 color preview images. These were generated in Flux. There are a few still in here that were culled from the text files.

All colors are organized in groups by their place in the color spectrum.

SwarmUI supports wildcards natively. Automatic1111 requires an extension.
